Dear Agricultural Producer:

Thank you for your inquiry to participate in Marin County Farmers' Market Association's (MCFMA) certified farmers' markets.  Enclosed is the 2004 stall reservation request application.  Please review the enclosed checklist carefully to avoid delays in processing your application.  Indicate the markets you wish to attend and return your completed application as soon as possible.  A yearly membership fee of $60 is required upon confirmation of your participation in any MCFMA farmers' markets.  MCFMA requires all participants in the markets to be members of the Association.

2003, Marin County Farmers' Markets Shine!

The Marin County Farmers' Market Association (MCFMA) participated in many educational and promotional events in 2003 including Soup Daze and Easter Egg hunts at the markets, Bob Tanem from KSFO doing a live radio broadcast at the Marin Civic Center market, Melon Madness, Grape Escape, Apple and Halloween Harvest Festivals, "Healthy Food for Growing Kids" event with the Marin Food Systems Project, Chef demonstrations and cookbook signings.

Sunset Magazine listed Marin Civic Center market as one of nine stand-out farmers' markets in the Bay Area. MSNBC, The Business Channel, featured the Marin County Farmers' Market farmers in its feature on Farm Direct Marketing. The Irvington Farmers’ Market won “Best Farmers Market” in the Fremont Argus newspaper reader’s poll.   The Grand Lake Farmers’ Market in Oakland moved to the beautiful new Splash Pad Park with its own street named “Market Street” in honor of the farmers’ market.

We continue to participate in promoting local Chamber of Commerce events, sustainable agriculture and educational programs such as Marin County Farm Day with over 2,000 school children participating, Summer Street Fairs and Light Up the Season Fair in Hayward, Agricultural Roots Festival and Luna Festival in Oakland, California Downtown Business Association Conference in Vacaville, Fourth of July Parade in Novato and Novato Salsa Festival.

We are looking forward to an exciting year in 2004.  The plans this upcoming year include expanding our chef calendar program and merchandise at the market program. Look for Friends of the Farmers' Market fundraisers and a farm tour this coming year.  We have many planned promotional activities that will surely bring excitement to this season's markets.

We look forward to receiving your completed application and welcome your participation in the MCFMA farmers' markets.

Sincerely,

Brigette Moran
General Manager
